AppraiserRazor — Privacy Policy

AppraiserRazor (the "Extension") is a Chrome extension for licensed vehicle dealers and automotive professionals that assists with wholesale vehicle appraisal. This policy explains what information the Extension handles, why, and who it is shared with. It is written for the people who use the Extension in their work.

Who we are

The Extension is operated by the developer of AppraiserRazor. For any privacy question or request, contact davidmiller@live.ca.

What the Extension accesses

The Extension reads vehicle information from pages you are actively viewing — principally the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and related vehicle, recall, and listing details on auction and manufacturer websites. This information is used only to produce the appraisal and check results you have asked the Extension to generate. It is processed to give you your result and is not sold, and is not used for advertising or for any purpose unrelated to the appraisal.

Information sent to our server

To operate the paid subscription, the Extension sends a small amount of information to a server the developer controls, hosted on Vercel and Upstash:

• Licence check. The email address of the Google account you are signed in to is sent to our licence server each time the Extension starts, so it can confirm your subscription is active. It is checked against the list of active subscribers and is not used for anything else.
• Terms acceptance. When you accept the Terms of Service, the Extension sends your Google account email address and records the date and time you accepted, together with the version of the terms you accepted. This is kept as the record that you agreed to the terms.

We do not collect your IP address, your browser details, your location, your browsing history, or any financial or payment information through the Extension. Payment for a subscription is handled separately by our payment processor, Stripe, and is not processed by the Extension.

Your Google account and Google Sheets

The Extension works with your Google account so you can export appraisal results to your own Google Sheet. It uses the narrow drive.file permission, which lets it read and write only the specific spreadsheet you choose or create with it — it cannot see your other Google Drive files. The appraisal data written to that sheet stays in your own Google account, under your control. Your use of Google services is also governed by Google's own privacy policy.

What we do NOT do

• We do not sell or transfer your data to third parties, outside the uses described here.
• We do not use your data for any purpose unrelated to the Extension's single purpose of vehicle appraisal.
• We do not use your data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.
• We do not use the Extension to collect personal communications, health information, or web browsing history.

How long we keep information

The vehicle information read from pages you view is processed to give you your result and is not retained on our server. Your subscriber email address is retained for as long as your subscription is active so the licence check can work. Your terms-acceptance record is retained as a record of your agreement. You may ask us to delete your information at any time using the contact address above.

Third-party services we rely on

We use Google (for sign-in and Google Sheets export), Vercel and Upstash (to host the licence and terms-acceptance server), and Stripe (to process subscription payments). Each processes information under its own privacy policy.

Children

The Extension is a business tool for automotive professionals and is not directed to anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above and post the revised policy at this address.
